Access a directory in DOS
with a simple click.
For some reason, you want to access a
directory in DOS located at C:\My Documents\Private
Files\DOS\Text Files
it would be difficult to write the path since you cannot
use spaces in DOS and you're restricted to 8 chars.
e.g for accessing My Documents which is located in the
root directory (c:\) you have to type: c:\cd
Mydocu~1
(~1
is an abbreviation for all the chars. after the u). What ??!!
You can use RUN in win95/98 to do the
trick.
Go to the desired directory like you normally do:
double-click on My Documents (on the desktop), same for
Private Files DOS and Text Files. Now you're in...
Click ...RUN and type "command"
(without the quotes), click OK or press ENTER
Type
command to access DOS
By using command you can
access any folder in Dos
without having to type strange and messy names !
