| Windows sharp memory If you're running Windows98 or IE4 on Windows95 you can profit from the AutoComplete feature when surfing the web or even browsing your local hard drive. For instance, just type the first letters of teckies.com and the browser will type the rest for you. This only works for previously visited websites... Quick Restore Compaq One great feature in Compaq laptops e.g Armada 1750 is the Quick Restore function. If you ever wanted to format your hard drive after a virus infection or a system crash, insert the Quick Restore CD that came with your laptop and watch everything get restored in few minutes. You still need your S/N (serial number) to restore factory settings - the s/n is printed at the back of your laptop. If this number does not work and you get a warning "number invalid, check you number and try again" simply type the special key that came with your Compaq, it should be printed on a piece of paper something similar to 1750QRCD0001. |
